The fun and vigorous YNDI Flow with modifications so you know how to transition and move safely whether you are new to yoga, want to slow it down or nurse an injury. This all level vinyasa practice is inspired by the Barkan Method of Hot Vinyasa which brings together a fluid flow linking the breath with the body with therapeutic postures from the Hot Yoga lineage from Calcutta. This slower paced class makes it easy to follow so you can focus on foundational details of the postures, yet still feel amazing benefits for your body and mind. Modifications for plank, chaturanga and upward facing dog are clearly explained and demonstrated.
The class begins with a breathing exercise in a pastural setting to quiet the mind, connect the breath with the body and warm up the lungs. Travel to the expansive open landscape for a slowed down YNDI Flow that clearly covers modifications and options to adjust the postures. The balancing in this class will be one set of most of the balancing postures in a Nordic barn. For the floor series, travel to the butterfly field for therapeutic and healing postures for the knees, back and hips. Modifications are explained, so you can have a block and/or folded blanket handy if you have it. The class closes with a restorative inversion.
