Rooted in the Barkan Method of Hot Yoga, the YNDI Fusion with Knees, Back & Hips yoga class is an all level, transformative practice. It incorporates postures from Hot Yoga, the Bishnu Ghosh lineage from Calcutta, with postures from other disciplines of Hatha yoga, to include great variation, rotation of the spine and upper body strength. This is an accessible powerful practice for both experienced practitioners and new yoga students.
Quieting the mind and connecting the breath with the body, the yoga class begins with Dandayamana Pranayama, Standing Breathing. The flowing asanas are set in the otherworldly field to build strength, improve flexibility and eliminate distraction. Balance and focus in the Nordic Barn for the transformational balancing sequence. The balancing sequence builds stability, focus and determination. For the floor series, travel to the butterfly field for therapeutic and healing postures for the knees, back and hips. Modifications are explained, so you can have a block and/or folded blanket handy if you have it. The class closes with a restorative inversion - feel free to make it a headstand if it's a stable part of your practice. Soak in the blissful final relaxation and peaceful space you've created.
